1. Who we are
This website, hippocrenedesign.com (the “Site”), is operated by Hippocrene Design Works LLC, Sheridan, Wyoming, United States (“Hippocrene,” “we,” “us”). For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we are the data controller for the limited processing described below. Contact: studio@hippocrenedesign.com.
2. The short version
This Site is a display. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party trackers, serves no advertising, and loads all resources — including typefaces — from our own server. The inquiry form on this Site does not transmit data to us or to any third party: it composes an email in your own mail application, which you then choose to send or not. We do not buy, sell, share, or trade personal information. The only personal data we ever receive is what you choose to send us by email.
3. Data we process
Server logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, California), automatically records standard technical logs when any page is requested: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type, and referring page. We use these logs solely to keep the Site secure and functioning. We do not export, combine or keep copies of these logs; Netlify retains them for a limited period under its own retention schedule and then deletes them. The legal basis under the EU/UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in the security and operation of the Site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Correspondence. If you email us — directly or via the letter prepared by the inquiry form — we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to reply and to conduct any design or licensing relationship that follows. The legal basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and applicable legal obligations.
4. Cookies
The Site sets no cookies of any kind — no functional, analytical, or advertising cookies — and uses no comparable technologies (pixels, fingerprinting, local storage for tracking). For that reason no cookie banner is presented: there is nothing to consent to.
5. Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for their own use. Server logs are processed by our hosting provider as a processor on our behalf. If you write to us from outside the United States, your message will be received and stored in the United States. Where the GDPR applies to such a transfer, we rely on the safeguards available under Chapter V GDPR, including, where applicable, standard contractual clauses with our service providers.
6. Your rights — EEA, UK, and Switzerland
Where the GDPR or equivalent law applies, you have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of, or restriction of processing of your personal data; the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and the right to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your member state. To exercise any right, email studio@hippocrenedesign.com. We will respond within one month.
7. Your rights — United States
Depending on your state of residence (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and comparable laws of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states), you may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in those laws, and we do not use personal information for targeted advertising or profiling. We honor Global Privacy Control signals by design, because there is nothing on this Site for such a signal to switch off. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. Requests: studio@hippocrenedesign.com.
8. Children
The Site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
9. Changes
If our practices change — for example, if we ever introduce a server-side form or analytics — this notice will be updated first, with a new date above.
